Saren Weinstein Schapiro

Georgia Chair

Saren Weinstein Schapiro is a second-generation leader of M&M Recycling, a multi-location, family-owned metal recycling company based in Georgia. After building a successful career outside the recycling industry, she returned to help lead the family business alongside her siblings, combining a fresh leadership perspective with a deep appreciation for the company’s legacy. She is passionate about building sustainable and scalable organizational infrastructure, developing people at all levels, and ensuring that a continued place for family companies exists in the recycling industry. Saren is also a strong advocate for community engagement and youth education, working to introduce the next generation to the opportunities and impact of careers in recycling.

I’m excited to be part of The Recycling Society because it centers the recycling as a powerful force that brings together communities, children, and businesses. The Million Cans Recycling Contest is a fun and impactful way to introduce young people and families to recycling while demonstrating that small actions can create significant results. I’m honored to support an initiative that inspires the next generation to see recycling as both a responsibility and an opportunity.

My children are the first generation of Americans in our family, and we couldn’t be more proud to live in a country where families can build businesses, pursue education, and leave the next generation with endless opportunities for success.
