“My favorite part of The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans was when she got a pool because I like to swim too, and how they recycled cans to get it for the whole school.”

"In a community with little focus on recycling, this contest opened our students' and neighbors' eyes to its importance. Every day, families dropped off bags of cans, quickly filling our bins. Together, with help from Beth Ford and Iskiwitz Metals, we recycled 126,280 aluminum cans and raised money for our school.
Thank you for this fun and meaningful project—it’s made a lasting impact on Southaven Elementary!"
Latangla Mills-Green, Professional School Counselor
